PHOENIX SWIMMING POOL DEMOLITION AND REMOVAL

 Imperial Excavating handles the entire pool demolition process from start to finish—including draining the pool, obtaining the required permit, demolition, backfill and compaction, and coordinating final inspections. We can also remove and replace access walls when necessary.

Option 1 is a complete pool removal. The entire swimming pool structure is demolished and removed from the property. Complete pool removal provides the most flexibility for future use of the area, including certain construction, additions or even a new swimming pool, subject to applicable building and permitting requirements. 

Option 2 is a partial pool removal and fill-in.  The pool deck and approximately the top 18 to 24 inches of the pool beam are demolished and placed into the bottom of the pool. The remaining pool is then filled with dirt and compacted according to project requirements. This is our most popular pool removal option. 

Option 3 is to simply fill the pool with dirt. A drainage hole is created in the bottom of the existing pool shell, and the pool is filled with dirt. The pool shell and deck remain in place. This is the least invasive option, but it may limit how the area can be used in the future.

Partial pool removal and fill-in is our most popular option. Depending on the size of the pool and site conditions, many projects can be completed in approximately 2 to 3 working days.

After the pool is partially demolished, the area is backfilled and compacted, then rough graded to leave the yard generally even. We leave at least 18 inches of dirt above the remaining pool shell, providing plenty of room for typical landscaping, sprinkler systems, trees and shrubs. Final grading, drainage adjustments, and landscaping are not included. Homeowners should hire a landscaper to complete these improvements.

Portions of the demolished pool and concrete remain buried, so minor settling may occur over time. If settling is a major concern, we can discuss other options with you before the project begins.

Since concrete remains at the bottom of the former pool, structures cannot be built over the area. If future construction is planned, a complete pool removal is the appropriate option.

Depending on the size of the pool and site conditions, many dirt-only pool fill-ins can be completed in approximately 1 to 2 working days.

Because the pool shell and deck remain in place, this option is best suited for homeowners who do not plan to build or substantially alter the former pool area in the future. Final grading, drainage adjustments, and landscaping are the homeowner's responsibility.
