SWIMMING POOL DEMOLITION
There are three ways to get rid of your swimming pool.
Imperial Excavating is your one-stop shop for your pool removal. We take care of everything from draining the pool to getting the permit to replacing the access wall.
Option 1 is a complete pool removal. This method gives you the opportunity to use your backyard to build a structure, add on to your home, or build a new pool.
Option 2 is a pool fill-in. We punch a large hole in the bottom for drainage and take the top 18 to 24 inches of the pool walls down. The pool fill-in is the most popular choice.
Option 3 is to simply fill the pool with dirt. This method leaves the pool shell and deck intact.

COMPLETE POOL REMOVAL
Our complete pool removal includes:
- The permit from your city
- Disconnecting the electricity, capping off plumbing lines, and removing the pool equipment
- Completely removing all deck and pool shell
- Backfilling with dirt and compacting in 12-inch lifts
After compaction, the yard will be rough graded so that it is flat and even. Depending on the size of your pool, our experienced crews will have your project done in 3 to 4 days. This method gives you the opportunity to use your backyard to build a structure, add on to your home, or build a new pool.
SWIMMING POOL FILL-IN
Our pool fill-in includes:
- The permit from your city
- Disconnecting the electricity, capping off plumbing lines, and removing the pool equipment
- Hammering a large hole in the bottom of the pool for drainage
- Placing the deck and the top 18 to 24 inches of the pool walls into the pool
- Backfilling with dirt and compacting in 12-inch lifts
This method is the most popular choice. After compaction, the yard will be roughly graded so that it is flat and even. Depending on the size of your pool, our experienced crews will have your project done in 2 to 3 days. Filling in your pool will allow you to landscape your yard any way you would like. There will be at least 18 inches of dirt above the buried pool shell, which allows room for sprinkler systems and for trees and bushes to be planted.
POOL FILL-IN (DIRT ONLY)
Our pool fill-in (dirt only) includes:
- The permit from your city
- Hammering a large hole in the bottom of the pool
- Disconnecting the electricity, capping off plumbing lines, and removing the pool equipment
- Backfilling with dirt and compacting in 12-inch lifts
Depending on the size of your pool, our experienced crews will have your project done in 1 to 2 days.
